Family Photography in Yorba Linda
As a Family Photographer in Yorba Linda our summer schedule has filled up rather quickly. This summer our schedule has been a mix of fun family portraits and lovely engagement portraits. What’s more awesome than that are all of the stories we get to hear.
Robert and Cheryl have been married for 16 years and have three amazing kids: Nicholas, Carson, and Avery. The kids were such sports throughout their family portraits. I really wasn’t sure how Nicholas, Carson and Avery would be during their family portrait session since, before the session, Cheryl had told me that one of the last experiences they had wasn’t their cup of tea.
The last few months J and I have really been reconstructing the way we go about things to ensure that all of our consultations, sessions and premieres are very streamlined. This helps us know what to plan for in terms of our workflow, artistry, and financials. Since we are both full time photographers, we want to make sure that our Clients are getting the very best in every aspect.
A few weeks prior to the Baehr’s Family session I had the opportunity to chat with Cheryl and hear about what she was looking for during her session with us, and what she wasn’t looking for. One of the topics we covered was her past experience with photographers; what she liked and what she didn’t like. This helps me to have an idea of whether or not we’re going to be the right fit for the vision she had for her family portraits. After hearing Cheryl’s past experience it really gave me time to think, “What are people saying about me?” “Are people feeling rushed?” “Are my clients enjoying their session”, “What can I do to leave my Clients feeling at ease, so that they leave feeling good about themselves?”.
A few days before their family session I made a few minor changes with how I go about our family sessions and couldn’t wait to implement them.
On the day of the family session:
As Cheryl and her family arrived, I just knew I was going to get along with them. After all, they’re into camping and riding dirt bikes, and I certainly LOVE riding. My dad taught me how to ride dirt bikes when I was younger, and once I hit 19 I purchased my very own 250r Ninja (street bike). I just love it so much more than driving a car. On a bike, not only can you skip all of the traffic, but the mpg is 65-70! Needless to say, I had a great time documenting the Baehr Family in Yorba Linda.
After the end of the Session, Carson says, “So much better than the beach photography!” It honestly made me feel so good that their outlook on a photography session had changed. The fact that I was able to relieve them of the negative term associated with, “getting photos done” brought a smile to my face.
Just take a look at some of these Family Portraits in Yorba Linda, and you’ll instantly fall in love with who they are.
