Here are 10 tips to take great photos with your iPhone!
Let’s get real. Everyone wants to take pictures. Whether it’s just for fun, or as a profession. Well, being a professional orange county photographer we’ve learned a few tricks.
Nowadays, almost everyone has a camera at their fingertips. Why not know how to get the best photos with what you’ve got?
We thought we’d take the time to give a little inspiration on how to take great photos with your iPhone.
- Get creative! Use unique angles rather than straight on. Shooting from a low angle gives the viewer a different perspective, and gives the individual in the picture a great usage of the sky as a backdrop!
- Keep it simple! Keep the photo simple and uncluttered so that their is a clear focus.
- Create depth in you photo. Depth draws peoples eyes to your photo and gives dimension. Use long defined lines such as edges, shorelines, or street lines to show dimension!
- Position your subjects diagonally. Placing you’re focuses in positions not directly next to each other adds depth and dimension to your photo!
- Use the grid feature! With the grid, use the rule of thirds in which you’re focus of the photo will be centered in one of the three sections of the grid.
- Use the burst function! When taking action shots, hold down on the shutter button and take multiple photos at once to achieve the best shot.
- Adjust the exposure. Tap on the photo, and once the sun icon appears on the screen drag it up or down to adjust the lighting.
- Turn on your HDR setting! On the top of the camera screen, you will find an HDR prompt. Turning this on add texture and depth as well as balancing out overexposure.
- Use apps! Download editing apps such as Snapspeed and VSCO cam to adjust the picture instead of simply applying a filter.
- Change the focus of your photo! Your iPhone will automatically focus on the nearest or largest object, but tap on a different area to change the focus of the photo.
