Irvine Family Photographer

I’ve known Matt for a few years, but I’ve never met his wonderful family until their Irvine Family Photography experience this summer.

As they arrived in Irvine for their Family Portraits, their little boy got out of the car and showed me the Ice Age movie that he was watching. The joy on his face as he explained what was happening during the Ice Age movie was so precious!

Once he had to put the movie away and come have fun, he was not a fan. Like most 3 year old boys, this kid made it very well known that he wanted nothing to do with a camera being near him or his parents, haha. Luckily we added a bit more time to the Session to allow him to warm up, play, and have a bit of fun.

Having photographed a lot of kids, I learned to have a few tricks up my sleeve in case they aren’t camera ready, most of the time it works. The clever tricks plus Matt and Amanda’s reverse psychology got him to be more okay with the camera around.

As a Family Photographer in Irvine, it helps out so much when parents are as patient as Matt and Amanda were. A lot of the times if a person is stressed during their Family Session, it shows through the photos. So, I always try to caution parents to just go with the flow (as much as possible).

Matt & Amanda, being the fun parents they are, also distracted him by running, chasing, tickling, and just enjoying their day at the park.
