Have you ever had one of those conversations with someone, where after you hang up you thought to yourself, “I love that person!” That was exactly how I felt after talking to Demetra.
The way she is as a person, a mom and a wife is so inspiring and I feel so blessed to have met this family.

In December we were contacted by Chad, saying that he would like to gift his wife a session with us. He told us that every year she asks to get family photos done, and he always says no. So, this year, he wanted to surprise her.

How sweet is that, right?

After talking with Demetra about details and what she wanted out of her Family Session, I instantly was so excited to meet them.

Before each one of our sessions we send a questionnaire to gather information, and to ensure we can provide you with everything you’re looking for. One of the things we ask for is a little detail of each family member. Having that as part of our process makes it so much easier to photograph the family members, especially children.

Chad- HARD worker, strong athletic.
Dimitrios-very smart, literal and responsible
Katerina- loving, kind and motherly.
Alexandros (Aleko)- our CLOWN.
Evangelos(Vaggeli)- Soft, gentle, shy and cuddly.

Not only do I LOVE their names, but I just love these descriptions she gave me.

In their family they have distinct family colors. Each one of their children has their own color for any activity they do or item they buy. Examples: If they make t-shirts, buy the kids a souvenir, or run a 5k together the children are represented through their colors. Dimitri is blue, Katerina is purple, Aleko is green and Vaggeli is silver/gray.
I absolutely love this idea, and one of the things Demetra wanted to incorporate in her family session was colors, which is what led to this amazing powdered paint family session.

I hope that you guys enjoy these colorful photographs as much as I did shooting them. This family is truly amazing and I just loved capturing such authentic emotions and the family dynamic they have.
