Why is newborn photography so important?

I was exhausted! Nothing could have prepared me for how to deal with waking up 6 times a night to feed a crying baby and here I was at 4am, barely coherent, and feeding a tiny little baby boy who was chowing down on a bottle until he fell back asleep.

I woke up this morning and Matthew was already awake, in his crib, making noises and standing up crying at the railing. He is now almost 9 months old at the time that I’m writing this and it seems like just yesterday that we brought him home from the hospital…time flies man!

I look at the pictures we have hanging on the wall of when he was just a fresh new face on planet earth and it is hard to believe he was that small because he will never be that small again…ever. I am so thankful that we are both photographers in our household so that we could capture those moments, but not everyone is a photographer.

Our child’s first days of having his eyes open for the first time and exploring our all too familiar world is here and gone in the blink of an eye and a lot of parents don’t think about getting newborn or family photos until weeks after their new addition is born.

We know how important a child’s days are to his or her parents, which is why we wanted to speak to all those out there who are expecting or who have just had a child. Now is the time to get those once in a life time photos of your little one. Start thinking ahead and get them going because if you look back and you don’t have those photos, you will kick yourself in the head. Trust me, I know, being a parent myself.
