Getting Ready for a Newborn Photo Shoot

  1. Decide whether or not you as the parents want to be in the photos with the baby. There will be plenty of opportunities for photos of the baby by itself, but but you deserve a spot too! What better time than now to get your first family portraits with a professional photographer in Orange County?
  2. Prep the siblings for the shoot too! If you have other children, you’ll definitely want these moments captured. Decide whether or not you want the babies brothers and sisters in the shoot and have them dressed and ready as well! Once you book your session with Kincannon Photography, we’ll send you a what to wear guide with everything you need to have a well-dressed family portrait session.
  3. Discuss with your significant other on what products you guys want from the shoot and set a budget so that you and your photographer can work together.
  4. Pick the babies outfit! Decide if you want to do any outfit changes, and have a couple of different options prepared.
  5. Choose props and accessories! Bring blankets, hats, and any stuffed animals that you want featured in the shoot.
  6. Choose your own outfit! Wear something nice, but casual and don’t pick something that will take too much attention away from the baby!
  7. Be ready to feed and change the baby if necessary! Hopefully, the baby will sleep through most of the shoot, but if not have stuff on hand to keep your newborn happy!
