A person blog post about Saturday Mornings
One of the things I’ve come to realize is I don’t do personal blogs all that often. I think it is important to do so because it gives you a chance to know me, as a mom, a friend, and your photographer.
With that in mind, I decided to do a project and document one of my favorite times of the week, the weekend. To be even more specific, Saturday mornings and what they’re like in our home..
Besides my two month old son, and my husband, the two faces pictured above are the best to wake up to. I mean, they’re the first to come give me kisses, and they get SO excited when we wake up. What more do I need? Nothing… nothing more than the love from my family.
Our Saturday mornings always start with J and I laying in bed asking each other, “What do you want for breakfast this morning?” We both usually throw out ideas and surprisingly come to a common answer pretty fast.
After we’ve gotten out of bed with a goal of what to eat we always start the day off with a treat for Cian (key-en) and Lacey. It’s one of my favorite times because Cian and Lacey are always so excited to see me. I refuse to believe they’re happy solely because they get a treat.
All the while, Jeremiah gets started on the coffee. I have never met someone who has to have coffee 1-2 times a day. Some would call it an addiction but others, like himself would call it a healthy habit. Maybe it comes from all those years that he was a barista at the good ol’ Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. Nonetheless it’s always the same question right after we get out of bed, “Babe, would you like me to make you some coffee?” Sweet right? I’ve got my very own barista-spouse!
Oh yes, it’s “tricks for treats” time!
Normally after I give the dogs love, Jeremiah, Cian and Lacey will wrestle, run and basically go crazy in the house. The sound of two barking dogs who are trying to go after Jeremiah is like music to my ears. Seriously, if you’re not being loud, you’re not having fun. ;)
After our crazy, fun filled play time, Matt normally tells us he’s awake.
So, it’s off to parenthood with a feeding, some love and a diaper change!
Matt, aka macchiato, aka makaio is the newest member to our little family of 5. We really do love that little boy, he’s so mellow, and pretty easy going. He must get that from me. :)
Okay, so I’m going to be completely honest… these taste horrible, unless you put powdered sugar and lemon juice on them.
We also have secret family ingredients that we add in that make them a little better!
Clearly Lacey decided to ditch being in the photo, she wanted to BE the photo.
I love this sweet girl..
Although we do love getting our family portrait professionally done, and that’s what we hang in our home.. I believe it’s important to document the absolute favorite moments in life.
Once breakfast is said and done, we go on a Saturday morning walk. I love these times, 5 1/2 years later we’re still finding out things we never knew about each other.
So that is our famous Kincannon Family morning routine! :)
On Sunday we headed to Newport Beach to visit my Dad and Cindy. My family is all about football so we figured why not take a trip down to my dads and hang out with them on a beautiful Sunday afternoon.
