What jewelry to wear for photos?
One of the most commonly asked questions I get is, “What do I wear during my photo session?”
My answer: something that compliments your best feature as well as colors that compliment each other. When you book your session with Kincannon Photography, you get a consultation that goes in depth to this question, as well as a personal online guide with visuals of what to wear for your session. It will include everything from actual outfits, to choosing your color pallet. Choosing a color pallet is key to planning the perfect wardrobe and most of the time your jewelry is best as an accent color. The color that not only compliments you, but also compliments your outfit.
As I’m a professional, full service, family & anniversary photographer, jewelry is definitely not my expertise but something I get asked a lot about. So, I figured I would bring in an expert to answer the most commonly asked questions I get, in hopes that this answers some of your questions.
But like I said, all of our clients get a Session guide that includes your what to wears we also go over all these details in the consultation, so if there’s ever any questions, don’t hesitate to send us an e-mail or contact us via our {contact page}.

After a delightful cup of coffee with my friend Emily I decided it was time to give ya’ll a little sneak peek of what she does. Her jewelry is phenomenal, simple, elegant and just amazing.
This month, Emily has written a blog post for all of you. Enjoy! :)

Jewelry that Photographs Well
When getting ready for your photo shoot, you undoubtedly pick out the perfect outfits and plan the setting. But what jewelry should you wear? Not only is the jewelry as important as the outfit for your special photo shoot, but you can follow similar rules for picking just the right pieces to wear.
1. Don’t clutter your jewelry, especially around your neckline. Just as you wouldn’t wear a bulky scarf around your neck (too much distraction from your beautiful face), you shouldn’t wear a necklace that is too chunky or flashy. Make sure that if you are going to wear a necklace that it compliments your outfit without drawing too much attention. A simple chain and pendant or single strand beaded necklace work perfectly.
2. Wear bright colors, in your clothes and in your jewelry. Choose jewelry pieces that will pop. And don’t be afraid to contrast your accessories with the colors in your outfit. Matching is great, but if you can find an eye-catching contrast, go with it.
3. Stay true to your style. Perhaps the most important component of your shoot is that you feel comfortable. If you don’t, it will come through in your face and body language. So, wear what you are comfortable with. If you are not used to wearing jewelry at all, keep it minimal.
4. Keep. It. Simple. Remember, bright colors, simple pieces, and have fun with it. Your pictures are meant to reflect the true you.
